Wastewater Treatment Operation is designed to meet
both the continuing education requirements and the wastewater certification
exam preparation.
Learn about the new rules and regulations and the new test format.
Obtain a copy of the new IDEM Operator Certification manual and
learn how to use it.
In addition, the following topics will be discussed
in the class:
Primary treatment – secondary treatment – trickling filters and
RBCs – activated sludge process and troubleshooting – package plants
and oxidation ditches – nitrogen and phosphorous removal – rapid
sand filters – effluent disinfection – treatment of metal wastestreams – air
stripping and activated carbon – use of polymer – odor control – oil
and grease removal – membrane filtration – solids handling – flow
measurement – new rules and regulations – exam preparation material.
Note: Students who need at least six month to study for the
exam, please register for the Wastewater Treatment Operation
I-IV & A-D. Important exam study material will be handed
